Hello! My name is Terri Scott!

I am a professional illustrator living in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2014, I earned my BFA with concentrations in illustration and painting at Memphis College of Art. Since then, I've taught art to kids and made a handful of children's books! I currently work in my at-home studio with my two cats, Nym and Tootie!

Cats are a focal point in my illustration work, if you couldn't tell.

They eat and breathe attitude! Hence, they are the purr-fect subjects for expression. I use cats to voice my thoughts and opinions in a playful and childlike way. Women's rights? Use cats! LGBTQ+ rights? Bring in the kitties! Racial injustice? Felines unite! My favorite phrase someone used to describe my work was, "Oh look! Gay cats!" As a queer person living in one of the most racially charged cities in the country, it's important for me to use my platform to speak out against injustices in an approachable way. Hence, cats!
